Your old electronics could have a second life and help transform lives. Through our reuse and recycling programs, we help keep devices out of landfills—and we invite our customers to join us. This initiative helps consumers safely and securely dispose of old cellphones, tablets, and laptops while promoting sustainability and bridging the digital divide in their communities. If you have any eligible e-waste at home, it’s time for some spring cleaning! Bring your old technology to a participating location and drop it off in the donation bin.

Donate your old laptops, cellphones or tablets at a participating AT&T store to be recycled and support families in your community.
For every 10 pounds of e-waste collected, AT&T and Compudopt will donate 1 laptop to a family in need to help bridge the digital divide.
Together, we can transform lives and empower individuals and families to thrive in a digital world.
All devices undergo data destruction following NIST 800-88 PURGE standards to ensure donor privacy. If data cannot be sanitized, all data-bearing devices are sent to our certified Responsible Recycling (R2) collaborator for physical destruction. Programmable devices are cleaned, refurbished, and updated with a Linux-based operating system (Ubuntu) or Windows 10, based on the needs of the community.
The cellphones, tablets and laptops will stay in the locked e-waste collection bin until the bin is filled. Once the bin is full, the devices will then be securely transported from the AT&T store to the nearest Compudopt warehouse.
Some devices will be refurbished and distributed to families and individuals without computers in their homes through our work with Compudopt. Donated items that cannot be refurbished will be properly recycled.
The QR code located on the bin directs customers to a form (View the Tax Donation link above) that includes the ability to request a certificate of destruction. The system will instantly generate a tax acknowledgment letter for the donor’s records. Customers are kept informed throughout the process, fostering trust and encouraging continued engagement.
